Chanukah Car Parade Details
This Chanukah, the Young Israel of Jamaica Estates is taking our celebration on the road together with the other shuls around the neighborhood. Apart but together, we will celebrate in our cars, in our homes, and on our lawns. All families and friends are welcome to join on zoom and/or in their decorated vehicles, strictly following all social distancing measures.
FOUR WAYS TO PARTICIPATE:
1. Join the parade in your decorated car!
2. Watch from your lawn if you are on the route!
3. Park your car along the route and watch!
4.Tune in to our livestream from home or from your car!

LIVESTREAM CELEBRATION
Stay close from a distance.
Our entire parade will be broadcast VIA livestream. Everyone in their homes and vehicles is encouraged to tune in. Connect your device to car Bluetooth to hear parade announcements from your car. Share your perspective of the parade with the community, enjoy the views of others, and listen to our music & parade announcers.

Don’t just follow the cars, follow the route.
Cars will line up at 4:00pm northbound along the Cunningham Park fence on 193rd Street between 81st Avenu and Avon Road Please do not double park or block traffic.

CAR AND LAWN DECORATING
Drive for joy.
No, you do not have to decorate. Yes, everyone should decorate as much as they can! Be as creative as you can be! Wave from your cars to the homes you pass by and wave from your homes to the cars who pass by! Spread joy throughout the community in whatever way possible.

The best decorated vehicle and lawn wins the grand prizes!
ENTERTAINMENT
There will be friends, family, & FUN!!
In addition to the family cars that unite to drive throughout the community, there will be a few surprise entertainers driving around in several homemade parade floats! Look out for them and enjoy the show from your home or your vehicle! All will be seen by those along the parade route, as well as those in the cars who join the parade, and everyone watching the livestream!

It’s only fun if it’s safe.
SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES FOR RIDING AND WATCHING:
-ONLY MEMBERS OF THE SAME HOUSEHOLD should ride or watch together.
-Those watching the parade should do so FROM YOUR OWN PARKED VEHICLE or FROM
YOUR OWN PROPERTY
-Gathering of large groups outside of these parameters is strictly prohibited by our
policies, state law, and halacha.
Everyone will have the opportunity to both enjoy the parade and remain safe.
